Last night, 3rd of May 2010, we held the area H2 International Speech, Evaluation and Impromptu contests. The evening was a fantastic event enjoyed by more than 30 members from all the clubs in H2.
Many people played a role in hosting the event but a special note of thanks goes to Rob Douglas and Roan Hammond who put the event together and ensured all went smoothly.
The quality of the event was high with some great speeches. In particular the International Speech contest delivered 4 speeches of outstanding quality and I am certainly glad I wasn’t judging and having to sort out the final winner.
After all I said and done it was a contest with winners and the following members will represent H2 at the Division H contest:
International Speech: Roan Hammond, Total Rosebank
Evaluation: Dave Matthews, BUWA E&Y
Impromptu: Michael Mayisela, BUWA E&Y
And that brings me to the Division H contest …
It will be held at BUWA E&Y on May 12th from 18h30.
I am still quite short of judges so would appreciate judges from CIS and CIDA, as well as other people willing to serve in the other roles required.
And then we need a crowd. These events are wonderful experiences and many who attended last night commented on what a fantastic experience it was.
So make a plan to be there and reply to this mail to confirm your attendance.
