Tanya Kovarsky wins Ballantyne award

Tanya Kovarsky was awarded the James Ballantyne Trophy for 2009.

The James Ballantyne trophy is yearly awarded to a club member for excellence in serving the goals and objectives of CIS Toastmasters and Toastmasters International. The trophy was presented to her at the 2nd of March meeting by Nico du Plessis.

She won the trophy for starting a club newsletter during her term as CIS club secretary, finishing her Competent Communicator assignments in just over a year, being a member of the HOD toastmasters start up team and promoting Toastmasters by writing and publishing an article in a well known magazine.

Tanya is the editor of Cleo magazine, she is married to Jason Levitt, and they have a son, Max, who is four months old. Tanya is also an avid marathon runner, and she was back on the road two weeks after Max’s birth!
